Very impressive are the nests of the Social Weavers. Colonies can contain up to three hundred birds. As nests grow they can get to heavy for a stout branch. Many predators are attracted by these nests, like the chanting goshawk on the middle branch let.

With heavy rains "vleys" are filled with water, only lasting days or some weeks. During the dry seasons some of these water points are supplied by pipeline. Warthogs can therefore wallow throughout the whole year.
